Unprecedented Partnership in Neurological Diagnosis

Unprecedented partnership seeks to improve diagnosis generation technology for critical neurological patients in ICUs

High quality diagnostic medicine coupled with state-of-the-art technology. This is the combination that will result from an unprecedented partnership between health care company dedicated to Neurological monitoring, Synapse, and the Laboratory of Software Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RIO), which will be launched this Thursday (02/22/2018).

One of the main goals is to improve the quality of the neuromonitoring of critical patients in the ICU, improving diagnostic accuracy and the speed in the delivery of results. According to Dr. Daniel Paes Santos, a member of the Brazilian Academy of Neurology and developer of the technical cooperation project, the entities will join efforts to “develop a semi-automation system for neurophysiological monitoring in ICUs, applying Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence algorithms.”

The partnership’s launch event will be held in the amphitheater on the 13th floor of the Leonel França Building, at the PUC-RIO Campus, in Gávea, at 2pm.
